When We Are Closed
Practice patients who have urgent medical problems that will not wait until normal working hours please call NHS 111 between the hours of 18.30 to 08.00 during the week and all weekend and bank holidays.
Alternatively, you may contact the out-of-hours service directly on 0300 123 3211
The out-of-hours service will contact the most appropriate healthcare professional who will call you back to discuss your problem and, after taking a full history, will either:
- Give advice over the phone;
- Ask to assess the patient at the GP base;
- Visit the patient at home;
- Admit the patient directly to hospital via 999 ambulance
The Out-of-Hours service is provided by Harmoni Healthcare and any queries, comments or complaints should be directed to them.
Alternatively you can access urgent assistance by calling NHS Direct on 0845 4647. A triage nurse will assess your situation and take appropriate action. This could simply be by offering advice or where necessary by making arrangements for you to be seen by a doctor.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
